
Just like any hotel, we ask for your credit card before the start of your stay. For each stay, (not each person) we ask for a $1,000 credit card authorization. It might look like a charge, but it is only an authorization for seven days. Because it is only a 7-day authorization there is no need to refund anything if there aren’t any problems with your rental. This is why we don’t do it at the time of booking, but rather 1-2 days before check-in. This is to help protect our property and keep it looking great for guests like you.
Some ask, when would we capture that money?
- Smoking of any kind, inside or outside of the property $500-$1000
- Bringing a pet, $500-$1000
- Staining the linens including sheets, comforters or towels through misuse.
- Leaving late and delaying the cleaning team.
- Bringing more cars than the county permits
- Getting a noise violation when a neighbor complains to the county.
We find that guests that book through our website or VRBO think we have access to their credit card because that is where the booking was charged. For security reasons, Stripe only shows us the last 4 digits of your credit card after booking. This is great for you and makes our guests feel safe sharing their private information with us.
